IFS (Internal Family Systems) treats the mind as naturally made up of distinct parts. Rather than treating these as problems to eliminate, IFS gets curious about them: what each part is doing, why it developed, and what it needs now.
A session typically starts with checking in. From there, we might focus on a specific feeling, reaction, or pattern. Sessions are 50 minutes. The pace is always yours.
CBT focuses on changing thought patterns. IFS goes a level deeper, asking not just what you're thinking, but what part of you is generating those thoughts.
Parts work is the IFS approach: working with the different aspects of yourself rather than treating yourself as one undivided unit.
Some clients find what they need in three to six months. Others work for a year or more.

I'm queer-identified and a former corporate professional. I specialize in IFS, a model that works with your protective patterns rather than against them.
